It seems that maybe spring has finally shown itself in Portsmouth. I took these pics with my cell phone camera during a walk the other night.
I've mostly been walking inside the extremely huge Portsmouth Naval Hospital. This was the first evening that it has been comfortably warm enough this season to walk outside in beautiful Olde Towne in the early evening.
I tore into a new book by Ken and Joni Eareckson Tada. You may know Joni as the quadriplegic evangelist, author, radio broadcaster, and painter (by mouth). She's written many inspirational books that I've enjoyed over the years. Learn more about Loni at www.joniandfriends.org.
Joni and Ken is a hard look at marriage in the midst of suffering. Not only is Joni paralyzed, but she also battles chronic pain and recently has had Stage 3 breast cancer. This book is an honest, not sticky sweet look at how she and her husband of 30 years have coped with the challenges that disability and cancer have brought to their relationship. I couldn't put it down and highly recommend it.
